JC Herron of Van Alstyne, Texas passed away on March 26, 2021 at the age of 99. He was born on November 11, 1921 to Joseph Cottrel Herron and Ada Estell (Horn) Herron in Chambersville, Texas. J.C. proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII in the Philippines. He married the love of his life, Mary Davidson on February 9, 1948 in Rockwall, Texas. JC said she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. They lived a true love story. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. JC was a homebuilder in Van Alstyne and surrounding areas for many years.
JC is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Wright and husband, Alan of Garland, Texas; son, Ronnie J. Herron of Pottsboro, Texas; sister, Mary Lois Adams; grandchildren, Bridget Ralston and husband, Blain, Stephanie Crigler and husband, John, John Head and wife, Ashley, Jason Head and wife, Brittany, Karmen Stowe and husband, Jason, Amy Burch and husband, Warren, Mandy Holloman, Jamie Ely and husband, Kevin; great-grandchildren, Matt Ralston, Clayton Sullivent, Jacob Ralston, Courtney Owens, Colton Head, Hailee Smith, Ty Crigler, Autumn Ralston, Kade Smith, Makaylah Head, Payton Head, Peyton Stowe, Braydin Head, Karson Stowe, Addi Stowe, Ty Holloman, Hunter Head and Adalynn Head; and great-great-grandchildren, Waylon Sullivent and Beau Owens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ada Herron; loving wife of 70 years, Mary Herron; daughter, Charlotte Smith; brother, Earnest Herron; sister, Edna Barton; brothers, Woody Herron, Freddie Herron and Carl Herron; sister, Cecil Mays and Elena Bowden; brothers, Hargus Herron and Hebron Herron.
A “come and go” visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.
In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of 150 guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on J.C.’s obituary page by clicking on the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/jc-herron . After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.
However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor JC and show their support to his family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone).
Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service with military honors where all are invited to attend the committal service maintaining social distancing or you may remain in your vehicle. You will be able to listen to the service through speakers set up at the gravesite.
