IN LOVING MEMORY

Jayalakshmi Venkateswaran

Mar 24 1935 - Sep 08 2016

Jaya was born in Madras, India in 1935, the second of ten children. After attending school in British India and independent India, she helped her parents raise her brothers and sisters, while getting qualified as a Hindi language teacher herself. She relocated to the neighboring state of Kerala in 1964 when she married her husband, S.N. Venkateswaran, with whom she was married for five full decades.

Jaya was a woman of many virtues. She was an amateur artist, a poet and a writer. She was a teacher, but always loved to learn languages and arts herself. She loved God and all of God's children. Above all, she was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, and a dear friend to many.

Jaya is survived in death by her step mother, three children, six grandchildren, eight brothers and sisters and several nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and elder brother.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2016, at the Ridgeview Memorial Park Pavilion at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
