Jacob ”Jay” Wayne Stafford, Jr., age 57, of Allen, Texas, passed away March 10, 2016. Jay was born October 19, 1958, in West Memphis, Arkansas, to Jacob Wayne and Betty (Coburn) Stafford. He married Jill Sakakini on December 31, 1988, in Lubbock, Texas. Jay graduated from West Memphis High School and later earned both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree from Texas Tech University. He was employed with Allen ISD as an assistant principal at Ereckson Middle School. Jay was known for his strong faith in God, love of life, his perpetual smile, his joyful spirit, and the ability to brighten any day.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Stafford of Allen, Texas; sons, Coleman Stafford and Kyle Stafford, both of Allen; mother, Betty Stafford of Garland, Texas; sister, Jennifer Burkhart and husband, Kendall of Murphy, Texas; brother, David Stafford and wife, Kim of Garland, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Allen High School Performing Arts Center.
