Jay Andrew Little, age 59 of McKinney, Texas passed away on August 8, 2005 at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from cardiac arrest. He was born January 28, 1946 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Jack and Irene (Doty) Little, both deceased. He graduated from Muskogee High School in Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1964. He went to work for Coburn Optical Industries immediately after graduation and spent 30 years in a career of service, sales and executive management. During his tenure, Jay traveled worldwide and was responsible for opening international sales offices, living in Singapore from 1977 through 1982 establishing offices in Singapore and Australia, returning to the United States to serve as Vice President of Sales through 1994. His optical career continued with DAC vision, Garland, Texas, Optical Dynamics, Louisville, Kentucky and most recently Briot/WECO, Atlanta, Georgia. Jay is known and loved worldwide for his influence and impact on the optical industry, his love and dedication to his company, his incredible knowledge and expertise, his commitment to spend time with every employee and get to know them and most of all his commitment and love to his customers. Jay had a big heart and was always there to help out, whether it was loaning money, a shoulder to cry on, and ear to listen, solving problems or stepping in to make life easier for someone else. He never met a stranger and touched many lives with his generosity, compassion and friendship. He lived by a motto of always doing what was right for the customer, the employee and the individual. Jay lived a wonderful life filled with many successes and many heartaches, yet he still embraced life to its fullest. In recent years, he and his wife became active in teaching classes and dedicating hours to help others who were experiencing the pain of having a loved one diagnosed with a brain disease as they had. His ability to share openly and honestly was a great attribute in everything he did.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Linda Craig Little of McKinney, Texas; Bret Wayne Little and his wife, Sandra and his grandchildren, Dakota Lee Little and Skylar Wayne Little of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Leslie Little and her partner, Tony Diggs and granddaughters, Logann Little and Alexis Drew Diggs of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Edward Franklin Fogarty of McKinney, Texas and Charles Thomas Fogarty of Plano, Texas and hundreds of friends who were his family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 13, 2005 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Mark Turman officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
