Jay was close with my brother. I have fond memories of him and Tom. Jay, my brother and I snuck into Emmitt Smith's Birthday party my sophomore year in high school. We met many celebrities and had a blast. My heart and prayers are for his beautiful family. TOREY T. LEWIS, May 22, 2013 Dear Jenica, I was standing in my co-worker's cube last week, when she was scrolling through Jay's memorial on her screen (turns out, she's an old co-worker of yours.) I couldn't believe my eyes!!! I was so shocked and then overcome with great heartbreak and sadness for you, the girls and his entire family. I always thought very highly of you two and felt very appreciative of the kindness you extended me in the past. Jay was an awesome man, husband, father, son and brother...That was apparent to anyone. I am deeply sorry for your tragic loss. Please know that you, the girls, his parents, Tom & Carissa, Lynn and the kids are in my thoughts and prayers. May God be with you during this most difficult time and may your loving memories of him sustain you. Sincerely, Kristen Boyd, May 20, 2013 Dear Carlley's - We were so saddened to hear the news. We called you for the smallest things all the way to the most giant, and no matter what, you remained calm, focused, and always knew exactly what to do and say. You were a shining example of a husband, father, son, brother, friend, employee, man. I am so incredibly proud to have had the privilege of having you in my life for so many years. I will miss you forever. Trish Carlley, May 17, 2013 Candy my thoghts and prayers are with you and your family. Lou Poppy) Sizemore, May 16, 2013 Having a sister move to Texas was exciting... and having her meet Jay shortly after her arrival, eventually dating him and choosing to settle here was MOST exciting! Jay included me as family IMMEDIATELY. He/Jenica involved my children (even as ring bearer and flower girl in their wedding) and provided them with a father figure they lack, alway ALWAYS setting great examples of what a GOOD MAN was made of. Oh how he loved his family, all of them, ESPECIALLY Jenica and the girls. I loved to see the twinkle in his eye as he watched and/or interacted with them. I loved watching him model the perfect husband, father, friend, loved one --- ALWAYS thinking of the other guy rather than himself. I loved how he could be serious and give advice, yet laugh at the silliest of things... I loved that Jay had NO PROBLEM saying a simple "I love you too", and you knew he meant it! I will miss you DEEPLY Jay. You were the kind of man I hope and pray your neice, Katierose finds to eventually marry and your nephew, Will can eventyually grow to become. THANK YOU for sharing a part of your life with me! Love you! (Love you, Jenica, Taryn, Alaina, Ellie, and all the rest of the family!) Lynn Solowski, May 16, 2013 My condolences to Jay and his family. Jay will be miss, gone too soon. He have a kind heart. michael Blackwood, May 16, 2013 May Jay rest in peace and his memories live on through those he shared them with. God bless his family he leaves behind. Amen. Jarrod/Jamie McKinney, May 16, 2013 Eddie and Family and Candy: So regretfully sorry to hear of your loss. I hope and pray your wonderful memories with Jay will comfort you as you grieve for your son. Tom Byrne, Wichita, Ks. , May 16, 2013 My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. There are no words to express your loss. Please know I am praying for your family. Holly Ross, May 16, 2013 Love is enduring. Love knows no boundaries. I can’t image the depths of despair that you feel over the loss of your dear son Jay. My heart is heavy with the weight of sorrow I share in your loss. He was the apple of your eye, the man who was your little boy; all grown up, but still your baby. You loved him so much, all his life, and you will love him forever. He loved you and will love you, forever, too. How is that possible? That can’t be true! But it is true, it is possible. And you can feel it if you believe – for real, not just in your mind, but in your very being. You see, love is enduring, it knows no boundaries. Not distance, not circumstance, not even death. Love is vibration that lives in the soul. When we’re near someone we love, the love vibrations in our souls dance in the space between our hearts. The vibrations connect and our souls unite – the body is merely a vessel to carry the soul through its journey of earthly life. When a person leaves this life, the body joins the earth, the soul and all the vibrations of the soul live on. The vibrations find a place to rest – in the hearts and minds of those it danced with in life. Jay will live forever in your heart and in the hearts of his beloved mother, brother, wife and children – every soul he touched. Vibrations of the soul never cease to exist. Our souls entered our bodies as vibrations and are forever, eternally part of the collective, cosmic energy. The soul that lived on this earth as Jay, chose his place and time to manifest for a reason. To be Eddie and Candy’s son, to be Tom’s brother, Jenica’s husband, and father to Tryn, Alaina and Elizabeth. The vibrations of Jay’s love – his JOY to the world – will live forever as part of the energy of the universe that is eternal and never ending. Family Friend, May 15, 2013 Thoughts and prayers to Jay's wife, children, and family during this very difficult time. Such a short life for someone who touched so many lives. Tommy/Leanna Barrett, May 15, 2013 Eddie and family, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very difficult time. Terri Nigg, May 15, 2013 I would hope and pray that every parent could experience the joy of having such a good and loving child. Perhaps more importantly, that every child could have a daddy that loved them as much as Jay loved his little girls! He lived his life for his beautiful wife Jenica and his three beautiful daughters Taryn, Alaina and Ellie. I am so proud to have been his dad and he has taught me good things about life. Son, you will always be in my heart until I see you again! I love you Jay! Dad Eddie Carlley, May 15, 2013 I worked with Jay many years when he was first starting his career at Discount Tire. Although it has been well over a decade since I spoke with him, it seems like it was yesterday because he left such a lasting impression on you. Jay was a great man and a joy to so many. My prayers are with his family. Jeff & Misti Gleason, May 15, 2013 A mother could not pray for a better son-in-law than Jay Carlley and I just have to say this one more time honey ... you are my favorite son-in-law ... forever! KiKi Canniff-Heard, May 15, 2013 I used to work for Jay at the bellmead store and remember a lot of good times with him. He was a great manager and loved his family very much. Jay will truly be missed and my prayers go out to his family. He always treated us like family. Joshua Reich, May 14, 2013 There are no words we can lend to ease the pain of loosing such an incredible man. We have always admired your strength, kindness, honesty and virtues. You were a friend we could confide in, a man we looked up to and a, true, pleasure to have known. Our prayers are with you and your family. We always thought we would have more time to spend with you, Jenica and the girls: never once thinking you would be gone so soon. For that we are truly sorry. We love you dearly and are so thankful to have had you apart of our lives. Steve D. Knapton, May 14, 2013 I'll never forget the first time I met Jay. I was doing bluebonnet portraits of you two and Baby Taryn at Frito Lay. He was an amazing husband and father and all who knew him will miss his sense of humor, his love for fun and his love for his family. We love you Jenica and our prayers are with you. Fayne & Vicki Finger, May 14, 2013 There are no words to express such a loss. My heart breaks for his family. He will forever be remembered. Rest in Peace Jay. Erica Albiso, May 14, 2013 My daughter and I met Jay a few months ago. She was headed back home after a visit in McKinney. One of the tires on the used car she had recently bought was looking flat. I suggested we stop by Discount Tire and have it checked. we walked in and I asked to see The manager, Jay Carlley. He came out quickly and I introduced myself and my daughter. I explained that I work with his step mother, Trish and that I think a lot of her and his dad. He was very friendly and offered to check her tire. Pam Parmley, May 13, 2013 Jenica & the girls, Candy & Hoss, I don't have the words to express the depth of our sympathy at this time. What a joy this young man was to so many. God bless you and keep you. Donn/Shirley Holsinger, May 13, 2013
