IN LOVING MEMORY

Jason Alexander Koons

May 04 1971 - Jan 18 2021

On Monday, January 18, 2021, Jason Alexander Koons, loving son, husband and father of three children, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 49 in McKinney, Texas, after a twelve year battle with brain cancer.

Jason was born May 4, 1971 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Robert and Sharon (Jones) Koons of Plano, Texas. He grew up mainly in Kingston and Back Mountain, Pennsylvania, Graduated HS from Bishop O’Rielly, attended college at Kutztown and moved to Texas in the Fall of 1998. Jason married Monica Michelle (Huff) Koons on January 31, 2003 and fathered three children: Ethan Koons (17), J. Cooper Koons (14), and Mia Koons (12), all of McKinney, Texas.

He was well loved by all who knew him and wanted, more than anything else, to live.  Jason loved Jesus, the beach, the mountains, his dogs, his golf, Penn State and most of all, his family. There was never a man more excited to be a father than Jason.

Jason was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Frank and Mary Koons, Dennis and Dorothy Jones, along with his “Poppy” Matthew Super.

Jason is survived by his wife and children, his parents, His Mother and Father in Law, Teresa and Lee Huff of Sulphur Springs, his brother Rob Koons and wife, Bernetta and their children Isabelle (Koons) Owens and her husband, Baker; Marek Koons and fiancé, Danielle Peck, Elle Koons, Calleigh Koons, Matthew and Connor Koons, all of Allen, Texas and Brother in Law, Jeff Huff. He will also be missed by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins mainly throughout PA and Texas.

The family wishes to thank UT Southwestern, Dallas, Texas and Dr. Stephen Duncan for their dedication to helping him beat this illness.
