Jason Manthe, age 37, of McKinney, Texas, passed away October 28, 2014 after a battle with early onset Alzheimer’s. Jason was born January 11, 1977, in Lebanon, Oregon, to Dennis Michael Manthe and Sandra Kay Gorton Manthe. He married Kamara (Kam) Kelley on August 10, 2002, in Irvine, California. Jason graduated from Concordia University in Irvine, California with a master’s degree in education. He taught in Lutheran schools for eight years. His family was one of the founding families of Waters Edge Lutheran Church in Allen, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Kamara (Kam) Manthe of McKinney, Texas; children, Matthew Manthe, Mya Manthe, Noah Manthe, and Kinsley Manthe; father, Mike Manthe and wife, Mavis of Shingle Springs, California; mother, Sandra Gorton of Medford, Oregon; brother, Brian Manthe and wife, Cathleen, also of Medford; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Valerie and Matthew Theriot of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and numerous other loving family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon, on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 7611 Park Lane, Dallas, Texas, 75225. The family will receive friends during a visitation at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
