IN LOVING MEMORY

Janis Elaine Quigley

Feb 01 1948 - Dec 08 2020

Our Lord and Savior has chosen to call home His faithful servant, Janis Quigley. Janis dedicated her life to the Lord and her family. She was born on February 1, 1948 to Evan Phillips Clay and Josie Maurice Jordan in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She grew up in Bountiful, Utah. Her early years were spent developing her talent as a ballet dancer and singer/musical theater performer. She was first runner up in the Ms. Bountiful beauty/scholarship pageant. After graduating from Bountiful High School in 1966, she attended the University of Utah. Late in 1967, she married the boy across the street and started a new adventure as a wife of a military officer. This amazing woman supported her husband while he did two tours to Vietnam and numerous other deployments while raising three wonderful children and managing a household. She also applied her talents to teaching music and dance to pre-school children at the University of Gymnastics in Plano for almost 20 years and to numerous callings within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Janis was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2012 and has fought a long, hard battle but succumbed to this disease on December 8, 2020. This elegant, gracious and kind woman has left a large hole in the lives of all who knew her. Janis may have left her earthly bounds, but she is in a far better place with her Lord and Savior.

Janis was preceded in death by her parents, brother E. Leon Clay, and granddaughter Miranda Claire Quigley.

She is survived by her husband, Collin R. Quigley; her three children - Eric (Jeana) Quigley, Mindy Collyer, and Chris (JulieAnn) Quigley; and eight grandchildren.
