IN LOVING MEMORY

Janine de Marchin

Aug 19 1925 - Aug 12 2018

Janine de Marchin of Allen, Texas passed away in Christ on August 12, 2018, at the age of 93 due to congestive heart failure and following a long illness.  She was born on May 19, 1925, in Liege, Belgium and she endured many hardships in her younger years, from losing her father when she was only 12, witnessing the horrors of WW II, and then losing her sister at 23. Janine lived and celebrated many happy years, many of those years married.  She married Philippe de Marchin on February 16, 1967, in Tucson, Arizona.  They were married 51 years.  Janine was an avid learner and she attended the University of Arizona, Tucson where she graduated with honors.  She went on to teach French at the University of Dallas in Irving Texas and was a skilled instructor. Janine had many talents besides being a teacher.  She was a wonderful singer, painter, interior decorator, fashion designer, in addition to being a superb French cuisine chef.  For those who had the privilege of meeting and getting to know Janine, she was a bundle of love and joy.  Janie was the life of the party and loved spending time with her husband and her “family” of friends. A friend wrote: “Janine was such a delightful lady, full of zest and energy.” In addition to Janine’s many individual accomplishments, she contributed immensely to the success of her husband, Philippe’s company.  She had a strong sense of responsibility in her personal, business and organizational affairs.  Janine had great determination to make a success of any project she took on.  She was self-sufficient, capable and she possessed good business judgment along with a natural understanding of people.  Janine was very loved by her family and her large circle of friends.

She is survived by her husband, Philippe de Marchin of Allen, Texas and preceded in death by her parents and sister, Josette Ledent.
