Janice Emelia Andreen Brooks (83) passed away peacefully on November 24, 2020, in McKinney, Texas.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents Oscar G. Andreen and Florence Anderson Andreen. Oscar came over from Sweden to reside in Indiana where he married Florence. They had their one daughter, Janice, born in South Bend, Indiana on May 30, 1937. She attended Central High School in South Bend, IN.
Janice started out as a military wife whose husband was often away on assignment, leaving her to practically raise her three sons on her own. Among her many travels and throughout her life, she impacted many youthful lives as a Director at the Youth Service Bureau at England Air Force Base, Alexandria, Louisiana.
She is survived by her loving children Raymond of South Bend, IN., Christopher and his wife Pam of Burleson, TX., Robin and his wife Kathryn of Celina, TX.; her cherished grandchildren Amanda, Christopher Jr., Randall, Jake, and James. As well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins that she continued to stay connected with throughout the years.
Mom, Ma, Grandma was a vibrant, feisty, beautiful woman with a lot of love to give and a smile on her face. She never met a stranger. She had a love of all animals, especially cats. She will be remembered for her kind spirit and her deep inner strength.
A Celebration of Life and Graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Highland Cemetery in South Bend, Indiana.
