Janet Pearson Wright, 85, of Allen, Texas, passed away July 18, 2019. She was born to the late Helen and Newton Pearson, December 22, 1933 in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Janet’s compassionate and caring nature led her to pursue a career in nursing. She graduated from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in Lafayette, Indiana.
On January 15, 1955 she married Phillip Wright, her partner for life at St Bernard’s Catholic Church in Crawfordville, Indiana. They were married for 53 years before he passed in 2008. Jan was a spirited, accomplished woman of immense faith who loved her family and friends dearly. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, compassion, and resiliency. Jan led by example and was an inspiration to those who knew her. She leaves behind a proud legacy. While we will mourn her loss, Jan often said “There are now more people I love in Heaven than are left here on earth”.
She is survived by her two children, Julie Hall and Keith Wright; two grandchildren, Brittany Sullivan and Megan Walls; and three great-grandchildren, Audrey, Carter, and Luke.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Phillip Wright.
A rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, 1914 Ridgeview Drive, Allen, Texas 75013. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
Being a practical woman, she did not particularly see the appeal of flowers and in respecting her sentiment, the family requests memorial donations may be made in Jan’s honor to St. Jude Children's Hospital or any charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
