Jan went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2007. She had an apparent heart attack, while with her husband of 39 years on vacation in Anchorage, Alaska. Jan had three sons, Grady with Bert, and John and Scott by Bert’s first marriage. She loved them as her own, and has five grandchildren, C.J., Grady Allen, Blaire Marie, Eric and Cole. She worked for Lockheed in the inventory control unit and in the electrical harness department, then hired into Bell Helicopter where she spent fifteen years in electrical assembly. She retired on June 1 of this year. Jan joined the Air Force after high school, and spent three years in the regular Air Force and eight years in the reserves, ending as a Staff Sergeant in the command post at Carswell. Born to Frank and Sophia Polivka on May 13, 1937, she is survived by brother, Russell of Bellaire, Ohio; sister, Marilyn Callender of Kansas City, MO; husband, Bert of Azle; sons, Grady and Misty of Keller, John Ed and Karre of Aledo and Scott of Azle; numerous nieces, nephews and brothers-in-law. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church of Azle. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Sunday at White's Funeral Home in Azle, Texas. Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, McKinney, Texas is in charge of the arrangements.
