Janet Ellen Cormier, age 71, of Allen, Texas, passed away on January 23, 2017. She was born April 14, 1945, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Peter and Mary (Grady) Cignetti. She grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts and she graduated from Emmanuel College. On August 3, 1968, Janet married Richard F. Cormier. Janet enjoyed traveling, knitting, crafts and community involvement. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas and a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Merrimack, New Hampshire.
She is survived by her children, Michelle Cormier of Brookline, New Hampshire, David Cormier and wife Naoko of Glendale, California, Nicole Raupp and husband Ryan of Plano, Texas; siblings, Peter Cignetti, Kevin Cignetti and wife Patricia, Marie Fratto and husband Thomas, Emily Hegarty and husband John, Stephen Cignetti, Jean Cignetti and husband William Slivinsky, and her brother-in-law John Wood; several nieces and nephews; a host of other loving family and friends.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mary Cignetti; husband, Richard Cormier; sisters, Anita Cignetti and Gail Wood.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 27th in the Chapel at Saint Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas. A memorial service in Merrimack New Hampshire at Our Lady of Mercy Church will be held at a later date.
