Janet Elizabeth Kinard of McKinney, Texas passed away February 7, 2019 at the age of 58. She was born in Dallas, Texas on June 13, 1960 to William Kendrik Northum and Thelma Jo (Manes) Northum. Janet married Michael Wray Kinard on January 7, 1984 in Dallas, Texas.
Janet was a 1978 graduate of Bryan Adams High School, and a 1982 graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas. She was an 11 year employee of Argos Ready Mix in Dallas, as Office Manager of the Quality Control Department.
Janet lived life large, and to the fullest, in her 58 years. She never met a stranger and made friends with everyone she met! She loved “going north” and playing slots with Mike, watching son, Bryan play baseball, being serenaded by son, Kevin on his guitar, loving on her precious “baby girl”, Haven Rose, and cruising with sister, Ruth.
A bright light has been dimmed on earth, but we know she is now shining bright in Heaven. She left indelible memories on all of her family and friends. Janet was passionate about St. Jude’s Children’s Research Center. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s in Janet’s name.
Janet is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Michael W. (Mike) Kinard of McKinney, Texas; sons, Bryan Kinard and wife, Lori of Little Elm, Texas and Kevin Kinard of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Haven Rose Kinard, Brooks Knight Kinard and Julia Rangel; sisters, Linda Young and Ruth Coley; brothers, Ken Northum and Tim Northum; niece Janet Elizabeth Forrer; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Thelma Jo Northum, sister, Brenda Clark and nephew, Timothy Young.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
