Janet Lee Bartholomew, age 66, of McKinney, Texas, passed away June 3, 2008 in Sherman, Texas. She was born August 30, 1941, in Hoytville, Ohio, the daughter of Guy Marvin and Violet Jeanne (Powell) Elsea. Prior to moving to McKinney in 2003, Janet was an elementary school teacher for thirty-five years in the Milpitas, CA School District. She was an active member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Allen. In addition, she was active in the McKinney Area Newcomers Club of which she was president from 2005 to 2007. Her special interests in the Club were the Book Group, Bunco Group, Movie and a Meal and the Poker Group. She was also an active volunteer at the McKinney Senior Center. Her other love was designing and making greeting cards which she enjoyed giving as gifts to her friends and relatives. She is survived by her son, Kris and his wife Cindy of Blacklick, Ohio; grandchildren, Kelsey and Kaitlyn; step-mother, Grace Elsea of Upland, California; brother, James LeBowsky and his wife Michele of McKinney; sisters, Nancy Segur of Fremont, California and Julie Valentine and her husband Kim of Toledo, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; and nephew, Jamie LeBowsky. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, 821 S. Greenville Ave, Allen, Texas 75002, with Rev. Gordon Illausky officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation at the church at 9:30 AM, prior to the service.
