Janie, as she liked to be called, graduated from Bishop Hogan high school in 1968 and graduated from St. Mary College in Leavenworth, Kansas in 1972. She began her career as an assistant branch manager for Charles F. Curry mortgage company in Prairie Village, Kansas in 1973 and worked there until 1979 processing mortgages.
In 1980, Janie moved to Texas and was promoted to loan officer for Troy and Nichols Mortgage. After several successful years as a loan officer, she took a job as the office manager for Jeff Elias Seminars and managed Jeff Elias Seminars, Elias Mail Service, and Elias Print Shop. At one time, she supervised 27 employees’ while managing Jeff Elias's travel schedule for his seminars.
Janie also became an investor in rental properties in partnership with Jeff Elias and at one time owned 26 rental properties which she managed. Janie was a muti-tasker, she was super- organized, very intelligent and a loyal partner with Jeff Elias until Janie suffered stroke on October 12, 2009 and was forced to retire.
Ever since her stroke, she has lived a comfortable life in Fairview, Texas with her husband, Jeff Elias and their beagles, Buster, Freckles and Onyx.
While Janie's short-term memory was adversely affected by the stroke, her long-term memory continued to be quite good. In fact, better than her husband who never had a stroke! Janie loved to eat and looked forward to going out for lunch and dinner virtually everyday, as Jeff wasn't much of a cook!
