Jamie Anne Smith

Jamie Anne Smith of Valley View, Texas passed away October 3, 2022 at the age of 63.  She was born on August 10, 1959 to Aubrey Hillburn Pollard and Shirley Earlene (Haley) Pollard in Birmingham, Alabama.  Jamie was a resident of the Dallas Metroplex since the age of 3.  She was a graduate of MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas.  Following graduation, Jamie attended and earned her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas.  She started her work career doing clerical work, then later became a medical transcriptionist.  In 1984, Jamie met her husband, Richard and they have shared their life together ever since.  Together they grew their family with the birth of their son, Jacob to join their sons, Richard and Paul.  Later, the family grew again with the birth of daughter, Taylor and the adoption of daughter, Reese.  Jamie was extremely involved with the kids schooling and extra-curricular activities.  In her spare time apart from her kids, she volunteered with Meals On Wheels and Cornerstone Baptist Church where she was a member.  Jamie enjoyed sports activities for her children and grandchildren, shopping with her girls, going on cruises, and taking family vacations.  She most loved being with her family in any and all activities.  Jamie was a loving wife, mother, Nanny, sister, and friend.  She will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her and also remembered as the most positive and outgoing person. 

She is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Richard Paul Smith of Valley View, Texas; sons, Richard Allen Martin and Paul David Smith, both of Waxahachie, Texas and son, Jacob Russell Smith and wife, Jessica of Palmer, Texas; daughters, Taylor Anne Smith of Gainesville, Texas and AubreeAnne Reese Smith of Valley View, Texas; grandchildren, Blake, Everly, Nolan, Mason, and Jett; sisters, Denise Chastain and Bob Karl and Elizabeth Pollard, all of Dallas, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family, and friends.

Jamie was preceded in death by her father, Aubrey Hillburn Pollard; mother, Shirley Earlene Goletto and stepfather, James Russell Goletto.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
