James Wimberley of Plano, Texas passed away on January 25, 2020 at the age of 82. He was born on April 11, 1937 to John Woodrow and Mary Dee (Davidson) Wimberley in Dyer, Tennessee. James grew up in Dyer, Tennessee and graduated from Peabody High School. He married Linda Sue Sumner on November 17, 1959 in Metropolis, Illinois. James worked for BF Goodrich which took he and his family to a number of different locations. Following that he worked for an independent tire dealer until his retirement in 2004. James enjoyed watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Wimberley of Plano, Texas; daughters, Debra Aaron of Melissa, Texas and Nancy Wilkerson and husband, Richard of Trimble, Tennessee; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; brothers, Perry Wimberley and wife, Nell of Trenton, Tennessee, Donald Wimberley and wife, Sandra of Dyer, Tennessee, and Howard Wimberley of Humboldt, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other loving family and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Dee Wimberley.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
