James Edward Scallion of McKinney, Texas passed away on January 16, 2021 at the age of 93 just a day before his 94th birthday. He was born on January 17, 1927 to James Patrick and Mary (Flury) Scallion in Syracruse, New York. Jim attended Princeton University and graduated from Syracruse University in 1950. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a topographic surveyor from 1945-1947. Jim married Lucy Zylka in 1950. He had a very long successful career with Allied Corporation (now Honeywell International); he began there in 1950 as a laborer making $.95/hour and eventually became Vice President of Finance. He retired in 1984. Jim married Marianne Wolford in 1984. They enjoyed extensive international travel. Jim and Marianne moved from Morristown, New Jersey to Marco Island Florida in the mid-80’s and relocated to McKinney, Texas in 2019.
He is survived by his wife, Marianne; son, Tom and his wife, Joan; daughter, Pat and husband, Ernie; grandchildren, Lindsey and Erich and wife, Elizabeth; great grandchild, Everett born in August 2020; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Memorial donations in Jim’s honor should go to Meals On Wheels Collin County.
