James Franklin Ramsey “Jim”, 88, died on March 15, 2020 in Shenandoah, Texas. He was born on September 4, 1931 in Vernon, Texas to Henry S. and Perna Ramsey. He grew up in Dallas and Ladonia, Texas. After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, he returned to East Texas State University to complete his Bachelor of Science in Math and Physics. He worked for Southwestern Bell for 35 years, retiring as a District Manager.
Jim was a member of the A.C. Garrett Masonic Lodge in Dallas, Texas. He also belonged to the Spring Woods United Methodist church where he was a member of the Lee Bible class. He enjoyed family vacations, road trips, football, band, camping and skiing.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife of 55 years, Reta Beth Hickman Ramsey and his brother, Henry S. Ramsey, Jr. He is survived by wife, Tommie Joyce Caldcleugh Ramsey, sons James Ramsey and wife Karla, Scott Ramsey and wife Kim, daughters Becky Michelsen and husband Finn, Lisa Maxwell and husband Mike, granddaughters Kara and Laura Ramsey, Chelsey and Allyse Michelsen, grandsons Benjamin, Patrick and wife Kaylyn, Alex, and Jeffrey Ramsey, sister-in-law, Suzanne Hickman Jackson and husband Bob, along with 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Farmersville, Texas.
