James "Snow" Charles Garner

On Thursday, December 10, 2020, James Charles “Snow” Garner passed away at the age 86 at his home in Sachse, TX.   He was born on August 10, 1934 to William Estes (W.E) Garner and Agnes Eydell Garner in Blue Ridge where he grew up with his older brother and sister and two younger brothers. He later settled in Farmersville where he married Sue Melton where they raised their two sons.

James was a Veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Germany from 1954 to 1956.  During his lifetime he owned and operated a dirt excavation company and a tire and muffler shop and later ventured into land development and stock trading. James was a member of the Farmersville Voluntary Fire Department for many years.  He was a member of the Family Worship Center Church and always loved to share his faith with so many.

James is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ivyle “Tuffy” Garner and sister, Daphne Parker.  He is survived by his two sons, James Dale Garner and wife Susan of Sachse, and Estes Garner and wife Penny of Farmersville; four grandchildren; Megan Watson and husband Phillip, Christopher Garner and wife Samantha, Athena Ezell and husband Zach, and McKenzie O’brien; three great grandchildren; Gracie Williams, Taylor Watson and Jaxon Ezell; His brothers, Jacky Garner and wife Ann of Plano, and Johnny Mack Garner and wife Marti of Farmersville.

The services will be held at Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 beginning with visitation from 10 AM to 11 AM.  The funeral service will begin at 11 AM then followed by the burial at I.O.O.F.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  James supported this foundation for many years and would be so honored if others did the same.
