James “Skinny” Huggins, age 80, husband, father, brother and friend to many of Frisco, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019.  He was born on January 13, 1939, in Bell County, Texasto Leta Mae (Chalmers) and Newman Amos Huggins.  James married the love of his life, Vila Cleo Bryant, in Durant, Oklahoma, on June 7, 1974, and they had seven children.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force and worked for Shermco Industries prior to retiring after 25 years.  He loved his job and was a hardworking man who gave everything and more to any job he had.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Vila Huggins; his children, Chuck Huggins and his wife, Rhonda, of Shady Shores, Texas, Lynn Smith and her husband, Lowell, of Leander, Texas, Travis Huggins and grand-dog Polo of Austin, Texas, Heath Huggins of Bailey, Texas, Lori House and Robin Wright (fiancé) of Little Elm, Texas, Donald Huggins and his wife, Flo, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and Kevin Huggins and his wife, Sherry, of Port St. John, Florida; his grandchildren, Brooke Huggins, Jennifer Sherburne, Tiffany George, Tracy Smith, Joshua Hale, Mia Dodd, Meghan Huggins, Dalton Huggins, Roy Harpole, Billy Pilkinton, Colton Huggins, Tanner House, Garrett House, John Michael Stephens, and Jarett Norris; Seventeen (17) great-grandchildren; his brother, Wayne Hoskins of Colorado; his sister, Linda Huggins Hajek and her husband, Hans, of Vienna, Austria; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, N.A. Huggins and Leta Mae Huggins; his sisters, Barbara Robinson, Diane Hargrove and Martha Carroll; and his brothers, Howard Huggins and Joe Hoskins.

Dad never wanted anyone to spend time crying over his leaving this world as he lived a great life.  He preferred that his life be celebrated and we reflect on memories we had with him.  He was very respected by those who called him their friend.  He was loved immensely by his family.

A Remembrance Gathering will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., on Monday, November 11, 2019.
