James Ray Tate age 75, of Wylie, Texas passed away on April 4, 2009. He was born on May 31, 1933 in Farmersville. James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On December 21, 1956 he married Juanell Hubble in Pilot Point. He worked for Texas Instruments in Richardson and retired in 1999. He loved sports, gardening, the outdoors and most importantly his grandchildren. He was a member of the Millwood Church in Royse City.
He is survived by his wife, Juanell Tate; daughters, Vicki Lynn Tate and Vonda and her husband Bryan Patrick, all of Wylie, Texas; grandchildren, Austen Patrick and Carsen Patrick; brother, Leslie Tate of Fayetteville, NC; sisters, Lottie Earnhart of Princeton, Ida Massey of Irving, and Margaret Spurgin of McKinney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Sally Tate; five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2009 in the Chapel at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, with Pastor Kip Brockway and Richard Patrick officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
