James Tabe Ebot, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on March 30, 2026, at the age of 39. He was born on May 13, 1986, to Sampson Ntui Ebot and Immaculate Bessem Ebot in Cameroon. James spent much of his early life in Cameroon before making his way to Texas, where he built a life defined by purpose, compassion, and determination.
James earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Dallas and went on to receive both his Master’s degree and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, where he also served as student body president. He was trained in neurosurgery at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He later pursued and earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University, reflecting both his intellectual drive and his commitment to expanding his impact in healthcare. As a Complex Wound Surgeon and Medical Health Director for Telehealth at Vohra, James dedicated his life to caring for others. He was deeply committed to his patients, often putting their needs before his own even when it meant sacrificing personal time.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, James was a devoted family man. His greatest joy was his wife, Sara, and their beloved daughter, Isla. He treasured every moment with Isla especially their time spent cuddled up watching Zootopia and Luca. He often said, “Sleep is for losers,” a reflection of his drive to experience life fully and make the most of every moment.
James had a love for running, especially along the beach, where he found peace and clarity. He was known for his dry, sarcastic sense of humor, his love of traditional Cameroonian food, and his passion for travel particularly cherished trips to Key West with Sara. He had a unique ability to bring people together, whether through gatherings, celebrations, or simply his presence. His warmth, generosity, and spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
James will be remembered not only for his professional excellence but for the love, kindness, and joy he brought into the lives of others. His absence leaves a profound void that will be felt deeply by all who knew him.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Sara Ebot of The Colony, Texas; his daughter, Isla Ebot, also of The Colony, Texas; his father, Sampson Ebot and wife Florence of Dallas, Texas; his mother, Immaculate Ebot of Cameroon; his brothers, Gabriel Ebot of Cameroon and Armstrong Ebot of The Netherlands; his sisters, Brenda Ebot of Japan, Yvonne Ebot of Arlington, Texas, Lizette Ebot of Wichita Falls, Texas, Agnes Ebot of Arlington, Texas, and Becky Ebot of Desoto, Texas; along with many extended family members and dear friends.
