James Ritchey Henderson passed away May 22, 2023 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 87. He was born to James Borland and Lucille (Ritchey) Henderson on January 21, 1936 in Kilgore, Texas.
James grew up in Kilgore, Texas and graduated from Kilgore High School. He attended the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma on a golf scholarship. James married Vonda Willis on June 12, 1959 in Evansville, Indiana.
He worked in sales all his life, starting in the box industry and later moving to the plastics industry. James would go on to own and operate his own company, Henderson and Associates. He attended Messiah Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas.
James loved golfing and photography, and he loved to travel. He also had a love for music, especially Vikki Carr.
James is survived by his wife, Vonda Willis Henderson of Plano, Texas; daughter, Cheryl Lynne Henderson and wife, Mingo Reynolds of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; nephews, Jason, Guy and Clay Whittington; and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lucille Henderson, and his sister, Shirley Pruitt.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
