James Richard Campbell

James (Jim) Richard Campbell, of Fairview, Texas, passed away July 30, 2018, at the age of 69.  He was born September 20, 1948, to Richard (Dick) Coldwell Campbell and Ruth Marie (Ford) Campbell in Dallas, Texas. Jim was proud of his family’s heritage. He was a direct descendent of Robert Fletcher Campbell, head of one of the founding families of Richardson, Texas which also included the Coit and the Routh families. Jim graduated in 1967 from Richardson High School where he was known for his baseball skills as a catcher and power hitter. He received his Bachelor of Business Management from Texas Christian University and did post-graduate work at Southern Methodist University. On August 26, 1972, Jim married Becky Reidinger in the Robert Carr Chapel on the TCU campus in Fort Worth, Texas.  He established his own firm Campbell and Company where he worked as a certified public accountant for 40 years.  Jim was a devoted member of Greenville Oaks Church of Christ in Allen, Texas.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Becky Campbell of Fairview, Texas; daughter, Kimberly Campbell Hendry of Dallas, Texas; son, Jimmy Campbell and wife Samantha Campbell of Fairview, Texas; grandchildren, Collin Campbell, Madeline Campbell, Cody Campbell, Josey Hendry and Callianne Hendry.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Richard (Dick) and Ruth Marie Campbell.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, August 3, 2018, at Greenville Oaks Church of Christ, 703 S. Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas.  Interment is to follow at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 6538 North Jupiter Road, Garland, Texas 75044.
