James Mitchell Burris

December 3, 1964 - August 24, 2019

James "Jim" Mitchell Burris of Celina, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at the age of 54. He was born December 3, 1964, in McKinney, Texas, to Onita Kathleen (Lowery) and Homer Ray Burris.  James was a flooring technician in the real estate business and attended First Baptist Church Celina.

James is survived by his children, Jacquelyn Burris and Elizabeth Burris, both of Sarver, Pennsylvania, Nathan Gorski (Ashlynn) of Middletown, Delaware, and David Gorski (Martie) of Hammonton, New Jersey; his mother, Kathleen Burris of Celina, Texas; his step-mother, Betty Gable of Sachse, Texas; his sister Holly Barrand and her husband, Ryan, of Celina; his step-brothers, Chad Gable of Sachse and Brad Gable of Shalimar, Florida; his nieces and nephews, Trenton Burris of Prosper, Gavin Burris of Celina, Laney Barrand and Zoey Barrand of Celina, and Marisa Barrand of Fountain, Colorado; and his great-niece, Emersyn Burris.

He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Ray Burris, and his grandparents, Clara Strickland & Homer Burris, and Nellie & Lee Lowery.

The family invites friends to a visitation at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home, 109 S. Oklahoma, Celina, Texas, on Thursday, August 29, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 30, 2019, beginning at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Paul Haskell.
