James Francis McDermott, age 80, of McKinney, Texas passed away May 12, 2008. He was born January 19, 1928, in White Plains, New York to James and Jeanette (McGill) McDermott. On May 12, 1956 he married Mary Farrell in South Orange, New Jersey. He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Dennis McDermott and wife, Julie of Atlanta, Georgia, Kathy Fowler and husband, Steve of Winston Salem, North Carolina, Michael McDermott of McKinney, Texas, Kevin McDermott and wife, Bonnie of McKinney, Texas, Rosemary O’Dell and husband, Mark of Golden, Colorado, James McDermott of McKinney, Texas, Peggy McDermott of Allen, Texas, Maureen Gorman and husband, Ross of North Richland Hills, Texas and Bill McDermott of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Bro. Keegan McDermott, Bro. Brian McDermott, Jack McDermott, Annette McDermott, Zachary Fowler, Logan Fowler, Jenny McDermott, Sean McDermott, Jordan McDermott, Ryan McDermott, Brendan McDermott, Meagan McDermott, Jake O’Dell, Craig O’Dell, Nick O’Dell, Shannon O’Dell, Caitlin McDermott, Collin McDermott, Laney Gorman and Lindsay Gorman; sister, Jean Brennan and husband, Walter of Ramona, California; brother, Frank McDermott of Agawam, Massachusetts. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2008 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, McKinney, Texas, with Father Dean Pratt celebrant. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a rosary on Sunday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow from 7-9 p.m., at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
