Rev. James Marion Gatlin, 93, of Farmersville, Texas, passed away on February 21, 2016 at his residence in Farmersville. He was born October 10, 1922 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to George and Ruth Gatlin Hoffman. He married Faith Badger on June 22, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a soldier for Christ. He served in the Army/Airforce and was a World War II vet. Rev. Gatlin is survived by: sons: Jim Gatlin and Jeff Gatlin, both of Farmersville, Texas; wife: Faith Gatlin; 2 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: grand-daughter: Jennifer Gatlin and daughter-in-law: Threcia Gatlin. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home, 107 N. Washington Street, Farmersville, Texas 75442. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Farmersville, Texas. Rev. Robert E. Langley and Rev. Travis Langley will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
