James Leo Kerrigan of Plano, Texas passed away December 15, 2018 at the age of 89. He was born on October 13, 1929 to James Leo Kerrigan and Katherine (O’Brien) Kerrigan in Boston, Massachusetts. James served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corp. fighting in the Korean War. He married Patricia Alice (Kerrigan) Kerrigan on June 13, 1953 in Boston. James was President of Greyhound.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Kerrigan of Plano, Texas; son, James L. Kerrigan, Jr. and wife, Jacquelyn of Seattle, Washington; daughter, Susie Barlowe and husband, Curtis of Allen, Texas; son, Peter Kerrigan of Little Elm, Texas; daughter, Paula Benton and husband, Bill of Van Alstyne, Texas; son, Bil Kerrigan and wife, Katie of New Concord, Ohio; daughter Mary Jane Kerrigan of Reston, Virginia, and son-in-law, Bryan Lupplace of Richardson; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Maureen Lupplace and sisters, Mary Mercer and Ann Kuklinski.
He was a man of deep faith, dedicated to his family.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 West Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75023. Interment with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive friends during a visitation Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral in Allen.
Memorials may be made in James’ honor to St. Vincent de Paul.
