James Lee Hagar

James Lee Hagar of McKinney, Texas passed away on August 14, 2018 at the age of 87.  He was born on October 15, 1930 to Vernon and Annie (Sledge) Hagar in Ranger, Texas.  James attended Crozier High School in Dallas, Texas and then received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.  James married Patsy Rose on September 1, 1950 in Dallas, Texas.  He was employed by Exxon Mobil, Raytheon and the Department of Defense.  James was a member of the Gospel Singing Westernaires at the Dallas Church of the Nazarene and served as Minister of Music at the Casa View Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of First Baptist Church in McKinney, and while a resident at Stonefield Assisted Living, he was ministered to by Heritage Church in McKinney.

James is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Patsy Hagar; son, James Hagar, Jr. and wife, Susan; grandchildren, James R. Hagar, Lori Coffin, Daniel Hagar and Megan Finley; great-grandchildren, Adrian Garcia, Jackson Hagar, Brittany Hagar and Devon Longoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Annie Hagar; and his brother, Vernon Hagar, Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Heritage Church, 4045 West Eldorado Parkway, McKinney, Texas 75070.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

Memorial donations may be made in James’ name to Heritage Church, 4045 West Eldorado Parkway, McKinney, Texas 75070.
