A Graveside Service for James Kenneth Latimer, 84 year old Trenton resident, is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday July 9, 2016 at the Burns Cemetery at Trenton. His son, James Ricky Latimer, will officiate. Family visitation will be from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Friday July 8, 2016 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard.
Mr. Latimer was born September 5, 1931 at Mt. Vernon, Texas. His parents were James Anderson and Alma Lee Skidmore Latimer. He was a hard worker and worked in many different jobs during his lifetime, including the oil fields in Hobbs, New Mexico where he lost two fingers, Texaco at Dallas where he fixed flats, Grumman Olsen where he worked for 15 years, Leonard ISD where he worked for 15 years and Trenton ISD where he worked for 15 years. He passed away Wednesday July 6, 2016 at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison after a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his children and their mates: Kenneth Wayne and Marcia Latimer of Hope, Arkansas, James Ricky and Gwen Latimer of Hope, Arkansas, Terry Lee Latimer and his fiancee, Tonette Orozco of Trenton, Texas, Vicky Latimer and Ronnie Vines of Hope, Arkansas and Leslie Latimer and Randy Treadway of Leonard, Texas. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: H.L. Latimer and Marvin Latimer.
