James “Jim” Rose, age 77, of Princeton, Texas, passed away November 29, 2017. Jim was born August 6, 1940, in McKinney, Texas, to Everett Edward and Willie Mae (Tallant) Rose. He married Sharon on September 18, 1975 in Aurora, Colorado. Jim was a McKinney Police Officer during the early years of his career and then became a deputy with the Collin County Sheriff’s Department for twenty-one years until his retirement. He was a member of Princeton Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Rose of Princeton, Texas; son, Chris Rose and wife, Margie of Greenville, Texas; step-son, Scott A. Evans and wife, Carol of Celeste, Texas; grandchildren, Tiffany Hughes and husband, Brandon of Anna, Texas, Scott E. Evans, also of Celeste, Amy Wood and husband, Noah of Sachse, Texas, Shannon Rose of Fate, Texas; step-grandchildren, Jacob Ray and wife, Mallorie of Greenville, Texas and Kenzie Evans of Celeste, Texas; great-grandchildren, Savannah Evans of Celeste, Texas, Natalie Hughes of Anna, Texas, and Blakeleigh Hughes, also of Anna, and Kenzie Wood; step-great-grandson, Liam Ray; brother, Kenneth Rose of Sanger, Texas; sister, June Welch of Mt. Vernon, Texas; nephews, Brent Welch, also of Mt. Vernon, Kenneth Welch of Grand Prairie, Texas, Adam Everett Rose and wife, Sara of Gasquet, California, and Brendon Edward Rose and wife, Maggie of Pleasant Hill, California; niece, Tracie Gorache and husband, Rodney of Bells, Texas; and great-nieces, Emory Rose and Hazell Rose.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday evening at the funeral home.
