Born July 27, 1932 in Allen, Texas, Jim lived much of his life in Allen.  He also lived in Amarillo, Texas, Los Angeles, California, returned to Allen and more recently in Van Alstyne, Texas.   Jim was a Marine during the Korean War, always proud and grateful to be an American and a Texan.  He met his wife of 60 years, Barbara Nell Laseter in Amarillo.  Together, they had four children, Eileen (Jimmy) Grimes, GayNell Brazeal, Brian (Marlo) Brazeal and Elizabeth Ann (Mike) Brazeal, born to this union while they lived in Los Angeles.  Family was always first in his mind and heart.  Seventeen grandchildren and great-children filled his life with joy daily. grandchildren, Kimberly Gail Hinson, Robert Lee Grimes, Rebecca Marie Grimes, Jana Michelle Pedigo, Roy James Grimes, Ronnie Mark Grimes, Tristan James Brazeal, Ian Kent Brazeal and Andrew Lee Brazeal; great-children, Kenneth Hinson, Alaina Hinson, Nathan Hinson, Ethan Hinson, Jaxon Hinson, Mike Collins, Bryson Grimes and Cayden Grimes.

He enjoyed his life as a salesman and the oil industry with Capstar Drilling; never retiring because work was fun.  Jim helped Allen, Texas to grow through the Economic Development Corporation which was a special and much enjoyed project for him.  He had a passion for fishing and never tired of planning travel.  Trips to Africa, Australia, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, Singapore and Mexico provided him with endless stories to share.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Brazeal; son, Brian Brazeal; daughters, Eileen Grimes and Elizabeth Ann Brazeal; brother, Don Brazeal and wife, Sharon; sister, Marilyn Pannell and husband, John; brother-in-law, Bill Laseter; seventeen grandchildren and great-grandchildren; six nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.

While we will miss him greatly, being a believer, we know where his is and that we will see him again.  Thank you, God, for his life and that we were a part of it.
