James "Jim" Boren

James “Jim” Boren formerly of McKinney, Texas passed away in Princeton, Texas on January 31, 2020 at the age of 83.  He was born on February 25, 1936 to Grady Lee Boren and Mary Irene (Ford) Boren in Quanah, Texas.  Jim was a 1954 graduate of McKinney High School. He married Tenie Ann Smith on June 18, 1955 in Prosper, Texas.  Jim worked for Arkansas Best Freight. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Princeton, Texas. 

Jim is survived by brother, Grady Milton Boren and wife, Gaylan of Celina, Texas; nieces and nephews, Tommy Russell, Bobby Russell, both of Wichita Falls, Texas, Lea Ann Rhodes of McKinney, Texas, Scott Boren of St. Paul, Minnesota, Tara Zappe of McKinney, Texas; and sister-in-law, Patricia Boren of McKinney, Texas; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tenie Ann Boren; son, David Boren; brother, Winfred Boren; sisters, Mary Ruth Taylor and Ruby Lee Russell; and niece, Pamela Caldwell.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
