James L. Griffin, age 77, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on June 10, 2009. He was born on July 21, 1931 in Dallas, Texas to William Thomas and Fay (Stidham) Griffin. James grew up in a pioneer farming family in Camey and Plano, Texas. On April 6, 1950, he married Golda Denman in Denton, Texas. He was a teacher and principal in Allen, Texas from 1956 to 1969. He owned and operated J. Griffin and Associates Real Estate Company. James proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Plano, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife Golda D. Griffin of McKinney, Texas; son, Kenneth Griffin and wife Debby of Howe, Texas; grandchildren, Alyssa D. Hutson and husband Jared of Little Elm, Texas, Christopher L. Griffin of Gunter, Texas, Lane K. Griffin, John W. Griffin and Kendall S. Griffin all of Howe, Texas; several nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Fay Griffin, and brother, William S. Griffin. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, June 12, 2009 in the Chapel at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas, with Rev. Curtis Keith officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
