James Euin Uselton, of Wylie, Texas, passed away on April 13, 2026, at the age of 86.

James was born on March 8, 1940, in Renner, Texas, to Eldridge Euin Uselton and Gladys Collinsworth Uselton. He graduated from Plano High School, where he proudly played both football and basketball.

In his younger years, James would travel to Wylie with his friend Buddy Gothard. It was during one of those visits that he first saw Wanda—the woman he would later call his wife. He told Buddy that day that he was going to marry her, and he did just that. James and Wanda were married on January 17, 1959, in Richardson, Texas.

They made their home in Wylie before purchasing an acre of land from his parents and settling in St. Paul, Texas, where they spent the rest of their lives together. James and Wanda were blessed with two daughters, Robin and Stephanie.

James began his career working for Oilwell before founding Uselton Contracting. Through hard work and dedication, his company provided a wide range of contracting services for the Corps of Engineers until his retirement.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He could often be found playing dominoes with friends, sharing laughs and stories. More than anything, James cherished time spent with his family and was always happiest when they were close by.

James is survived by his daughters, Robin Uselton of Garland, Texas, and Stephanie Rogers and her husband, Ronnie, of Wylie, Texas.

He was a proud grandfather to Josh Rogers and his wife, Sandy; Brian West and his wife, Lisa; and Luke Rogers and his wife, Bonnie.

He is also survived by his five great-grandchildren—Gerrit, Carson, Grady, Malia, and Peyton—as well as his beloved four-legged companion, Dolly.

James leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who became like family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joyce Morrow, and her husband, Don; his sister, Linda Richardson, and her husband, George; and his beloved wife, Wanda Uselton.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
