IN LOVING MEMORY

James Edward "Eddie" Griffin

Dec 01 1968 - May 22 2022

James Edward Griffin, "Eddie" of Tom Bean, Texas was born to James and Florene Griffin on December 1st, 1968 in Sherman, Texas. He passed from this world on May 22nd, 2022.

Eddie married the love of his life and his high school sweetheart, Tabethia Blue, on September 20, 1988, and together they had 2 wonderful children, Dalton and Demi, who he treasured and knew were his greatest accomplishments in life. Not a day would go by without Eddie reaching out to his family on the phone just to talk and check in on them. Several calls a day as a matter of fact. It was just one of the ways he would express his love for his precious family.

Being a truck driver was another love of “Fast Eddie's.” He was happiest behind the wheel, especially with his faithful sidekick and dog, Daisy who was always eager to roll on down the road with him. Many times, it was jokingly questioned whether or not he loved the dog more than the kids. Of course, we all know it was the kids and that his love for Daisy spoke to the depth of love that Eddie always expressed with those who were so important to him, be it human or dog.

If you knew Eddie Griffin, you know he never met a stranger. He was always ready with a huge smile on his face along with a handshake for the guys and a hug for the ladies. His thoughtfulness and joy for others made a lasting impression and resulted in many smiles and lots of laughter, often times leaving the person he was speaking with happier than when he found them.

He is preceded in death by his father James Griffin (Tom Bean), grandparents John and Johnnie Tramel (Tom Bean), Jimmie Griffin (Howe), and Wyatt Griffin (Van Alstyne).
Eddie is survived by his beautiful wife, Tabethia Griffin (Tom Bean), precious children, Dalton & Erin Griffin (Bells), and Demi Griffin (Tom Bean), mother Florene Griffin (Tom Bean), brother, John & Becky Griffin (Tom Bean), nephew, Dylan & Rachel Griffin (Whitewright), niece, Kinzie & Ryan Miller (Sherman), great-niece, Audrey Griffin (Whitewright), grandmother Lela Griffin (Van Alstyne) as well as numerous brothers and sisters in law, nieces, and nephews. He and his contagious joy will be missed by all. 10-4

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25th at the Turrentine Jackson Morrow funeral home in Whitewright, Texas from 12-2 pm followed by a service at the funeral home chapel and then a graveside interment at Vittitoe Cemetery.
