James Edward Rudolph, 88 years old, residing at The Watermere in Frisco Texas passed away on August 12, 2023 of complications from Parkinson’s. James was born on November 26,1934 to Leo Eugene Rudolph and Tillie Coriz Rudolph in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
After graduating from Las Vegas High School in 1952 he joined the National Guard for 8 years and attended college and graduated from New Mexico Highlands University in 1956 with an AB in psychology and a MS in clinical psychology in 1958. After graduating he started his 35-year career as a school psychologist with Half Hollow Hills School District in Dix Hills on Long Island New York. In 1972 he received his PH.D. from St John’s University in N.Y. and started a private practice while obtaining two more post-doctoral degrees in psychotherapy and group psychotherapy from Adelphi University.
In 1958 he met Anne Haley Rudolph in Gray, Maine at Pineland Hospital, and they married on August 22, 1959. James and Anne settled in Hauppauge N.Y. where they raised their three children, Kelly Rudolph Small, Eugene Earle Rudolph, and Glenn Edward Rudolph. His interests while working included: running marathons, competing in triathlons, coaching soccer, windsurfing, playing basketball, and following the Knicks, Jets, and Green Bay Packers.
James is survived by his four sisters, Maribelle Rudolph Henson, Tresa Rudolph Ruiz, Katy Rudolph Harris, and Janet Rudolph Lucero, along with his wife Anne, daughter Kelly, and two sons, Earle and Glenn.
James was predeceased by his three sisters, Gloria Rudolph Maloof, Dorothy Rudolph Alles, and Betty Rudolph Sena.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
