James Thomas Downham, Sr., age 76, of Allen, Texas, passed away September 13, 2009, in Frisco, Texas. James was born January 9, 1933 in Wilmington, Delaware to William E. and Rhoda (Churchman) Downham. He married Louise Krebs on September 29, 1956 in Marshallton, Delaware. James was employed with Diamond State Telephone Company in the installation division. He was also employed with The DuPont Company where he served a summer internship and went on to work as a chemical assistant, an electronic technician, and in marketing management, retiring after thirty-nine years. James proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War and then continued serving in the Army reserves. He was a member of the Dupont Geophysical Society, DuPont Retirees Association, Marbrook PTA President, Canyon Creek Homeowners Association, and was a third degree mason. James was also a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at University of Delaware. He is survived by his wife, Louise K. Downham of Allen, Texas; daughter, Kim Cruikshank and her husband, John also of Allen; granddaughters, Corey, Spenser and Brayden Cruikshank, all of Allen; son, James T. Downham, Jr. and his wife, Kimberly of Kingwood, Texas; grandsons, Bryson, Clay and Ty Downham, all of Kingwood; granddaughter, Caroline Downham, also of Kingwood; and his twin brother, Mr. William E. Downham, Jr. and his wife, Jeanette Lee Downham of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Rhoda Downham, Sr. and sister, Margaret Tims. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 P.M., Thursday, September 17, 2009, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 6565 Independence Pkwy., Plano, Texas, 75023.
