James Dennis "Denny" Ross

December 3, 1949 - January 3, 2018

James Dennis “Denny” Ross of Celina, Texas passed away January 3, 2018, at the age of 68.  He was born December 3, 1949, to James Edward Ross and Nancy Ann (Berry) Ross in El Dorado, Arkansas.  Denny graduated from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana with the highest honors.  He married Sheila Crotwell on May 29, 1971, in Calhoun, Louisiana.  Denny worked for Raytheon in Garland, Texas for thirty years before his retirement. His interests included playing on the company softball team, making rocket models and being involved with the Boys Scouts of America. Denny enjoyed yard work and maintained the nicest yard on the block.  He was an avid Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys Fan. Denny was a life long member of the United Methodist Church.  He will be remembered as the #1 Dad and Grandpa.

Denny is survived by his wife, Sheila Ross of Celina; son, Michael Ross and wife Erin of Celina; Mandy Wilson and husband Windel of Lone Oak, Texas; grandchildren, Jacob, Isaac, Jara, Tyler and Mason; and brother, Tom Ross and wife Kim of San Diego, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Nancy Ross.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 8, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas.  Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
