James Jay Corbett

Born March 3, 1936 in Dearborn, Michigan. Jim was a successful, teacher, coach and businessman. He was a mentor who set an example of how to live ones life. His passions were his family, sailing, music, the mountains of Colorado and his work. He had patience, optimism, vision, curiosity, humor, and above all humility. Jim was a loving father to Chris, Karen and Jeff. A Grandfather to Nicholas and Spencer and a devoted and loving husband to LaVonne for 45 years. He is survived by his sisters, Patricia and Barbara and brother Michael; Aunt Jane; cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed and always remembered as one of life’s greatest treasures. Services will be held at Highland Park United Methodist Church, Dallas, Texas on Tuesday April 4, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the James Jay Corbett Scholarship Fund at Hibernia National Bank, 437 Coit Road, Plano, Texas 75075.
