James Clifford Aday, age 81, of Coppell, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022, in Grapevine, Texas. He was born in Denton, Texas on September 4, 1941 to the late John Luther and Nellie Frances Aday (Morrow). James married Sue Carolyn Trail on April 8, 1962. James graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked in the oil and gas industry for over 40 years and retired in 2006 from National Oilwell. During his time at National Oilwell, he was responsible for four patents. James had a love of learning which was expressed in his many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed photography, wood working, and was a beekeeper, rancher, and clock maker. He also rebuilt computers and classic cars and built two homes for his family.
James is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Sue Aday; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Todd Hannan; son and daughter-in-law, James and Carolyn Aday; grandchildren, Scott Hannan, Lauren Hannan and James Aday; and sisters, Betty Thompson and Evelyn Brewer. James was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin Aday and sisters, Shirley Kyle and Imogene Chaddock.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow at Plano Mutual Cemetery in Plano, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening, October 10, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
