James Cardwell Dawkins

January 25, 1945 - January 5, 2019

Mr. James (Jim)Cardwell Dawkins Sr. of Farmersville, Texas passed away Saturday at Medical City Hospital of McKinney. He was a resident of Farmersville, Texas. Jim was born January 25, 1945 in El Paso, Texas the son of James Marion and Rose Eddie Turner Dawkins. He was married to Linda Parker March 11, 2005 in San Antonio, Texas. Jim was in the construction business and served in the United States Army. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church in Farmersville, Texas. He is survived by his wife Linda of Farmersville and children Maj. Gen. James C. Dawkins Jr. and wife Daina of Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, La.,  Laurie Lynn Morris and Ashley Andries of McKinney, Texas, Captain Joshua John Marion Dawkins and Laura of England, and William Vallow Dawkins of Farmersville. Jim is survived by his brothers; Gary, Craig, and Pat Dawkins, grandchildren; Jacqueline Dawkins, Jimmy Dawkins, Brandon Morris, Madison Morris Ybarra, Nathan Dawkins, Andrew Dawkins and Benjamin Dawkins, and great granddaughter Saoirse Morris. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, son, Matthew Hamilton Dawkins, and his first wife Judith Lynn Dawkins. He was also  preceded in death by his sisters; Jean McNeil and Cathy Landrum.  Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Farmersville, Texas with Dr. Bart Barber officiating.
