James W. (Dub) Bailey, 73 of McKinney, passed away September 20, 2004 at home with a short illness of a deadly cancer, his family by his side. Born February 10, 1931 to Fannie Gadberry and William Franklin Bailey. He was a life long resident of McKinney who after serving in the U. S. Army married Rhelda Greer of McKinney in July 1963. He worked at the McKinney Coca Cola Bottling Co. servicing several routes in the Collin County for 23 years. He then joined Home Interior & Gifts where he was employed for 10 years at the Frisco plant. He then retired to Oak Hollow Golf Course where he was an avid golfer and spent most of his days. He was an active member of White Rock Baptist Church in Anna, Texas. His daughters-in-law were his daughters and his sons-in-law were his sons. He loved his family, he loved his golf and he will be missed. This one thought Papaw could fix anything. Not only would she bring broken jewelry to be fixed but her friends jewelry as well. Then there were his buddies, his 2 grandsons. Christopher Bailey of Westminster and Justin Bailey of Van Alstyne. Chris choosing to follow in the footsteps of his Papaw and his dad having the love for golf, hoping to someday play in the Byron Nelson Classic. Justin who Papaw knew would some day be flying high in the clouds, as he becomes the best pilot his family has ever seen. 1 great-grandchild: Ashlyn Pokorny who just turned 2. 1 sister Hazel Cannedy of McKinney. His parents, a brother Bill, and his loving dog Tinker Bell precede him in death. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 23, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Ray Douglas officiating. Interment will follow at Stoney Point Cemetery.
