JaJuan LaTroy Dawson

JaJuan LaTroy Dawson had a bigger than life personality and was sweeter than his famous pastries. He left us to go home with the Lord Monday in Murphy, Texas on July 13, 2015 at the age of 37.

JaJuanis preceded in death by his maternal grandfathers Hosely Mosely & John W. Trosclair, Sr., paternal grandmother Octavia Dawson, paternal grandfather Hollis Dawson and father-in-law James Cole.

JaJuan is survived by his loving wife, Jamie Dawson of 11 years; mother, Susan Dawson; father, Frederick Dawson; mother-in-law, Lorraine Cole; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Mosely; godmother, Jewel Short; and godfather, James Mosely (uncle).

JaJuan is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Jadyn (8 yrs) and Jayla (3 yrs); brother, Joey Dawson (Jessica Dawson); sister-in-law, Leslie Cole; brother-in-law, Archie Perry (Jaime Perry); nieces, Alyssa Perry, Asia Cole, Alexis Perry and Julia Dawson; nephews, Marcus Perry and Jordan Dawson; and a multitude of family, friends, teammates, colleagues and coworkers.

JaJuan Dawson was born in Houston, Texas on November 5, 1977, but raised in Gibson, LA where he developed his athletic skills, beautiful personality and spirit. He then graduated from H. L. Bourgeois High School in 1995 and went on to earn a Business Management and Marketing Degree from Tulane University in 2000. During his time at Tulane, he set several collegiate records and was inducted into the school’s sports hall of fame.  Upon leaving Tulane, JaJuan entered the NFL Draft where he was selected by the Cleveland Browns. JaJuan continued his NFL career playing for the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts. Here is where his spirit and personality flourished in developing timeless relationships with his NFL brothers. To continue sharing his spirit and talents, JaJuan then joined the field of Medical Sales as a representative. He most recently worked as a senior sales representative for Boston Scientific.

JaJuan enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, fishing, hunting, cooking, and landscaping.

A visitation will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, on Sunday evening, July 19, 2015, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

The celebration of life will be held at One Community Church, 2400 State Highway 121, Plano, TX 75025, on July 20, 2015 at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Conway Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park immediately after the service.
