Jacob Paul Adkins

Jacob Paul Adkins, age 29, of Wylie, Texas, passed away from complications from Pancreatitis on December 29, 2022.

Jacob was born November 17, 1993, in McKinney, Texas to Delbert and Krista Adkins.

Jacob was preceded in death by his mother Krista Adkins, his grandparents Phillip and Lila Lou (Mauk) Adkins, his grandmother Marilyn Frances (Evers) Clifton and his aunt Cara Joye (Adkins) Gibson.

Jacob was homeschooled, graduating from Lucas Christian Academy. He spent the majority of his childhood enjoying the outdoors through Boy Scouts as a member of Troop 302.  Jacob earned the rank of Eagle Scout.   Jacob earned an academic scholarship to SMU.  He discovered Computer Science during his first semester at SMU and quickly developed a passion for it.  He graduated from the Lyle School of Engineering at SMU with a degree in Computer Science.  He was a Full Stack Developer/Agile Lead for Simpli.fi in Fort Worth Texas. 

In his free time, Jacob enjoyed traveling and adventures whether it was gathering with friends together for weekend trips to explore rural towns or going on longer trips around the country.  Jacob loved to fish whether a trip to Alaska or fishing near the Rio Grande at Lake Falcon.

Jacob was extremely smart, kind, compassionate and a gentle soul.  He greatly missed his mother and will now be reunited with her in heaven. 

He will be remembered by his father, Delbert  Adkins; sister, Natalie Hutchings; niece, Violet Hutchings; grandparents, William and Norma Clifton; aunt Ruth Clifton and uncle Mark Whitaker, aunt Rita Gaye Walker, uncle Steve Clifton, aunts and uncles Douglas and Robin Clifton and Amie and Ryan Brodeur, along with numerous cousins and many friends.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the United Methodist Church, 1401 Country Club Road, Wylie, Texas 75098.

Please come as you are, from casual to formal, whatever you are comfortable in and how you knew Jacob. Reminiscing and refreshments will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jacob's memory to the Tarrant County Area Food Bank or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Jacobs two favorite charities.
