IN LOVING MEMORY

Jacob Cody Brown

Mar 31 1987 - Apr 25 2024

Jacob Cody Brown, of Greenville, Texas, passed away on April 25, 2024, at the age of 37. He was born on March 31, 1987, to Bobby Monroe Brown and Kimberly Wingfield in Waco, Texas. He married Sable Peyton Murry on August 29, 2015, in Portland, Oregon.

Jacob was a professional tattoo artist and body piercer. He was known for his artistic talent, love for motorcycles, energetic spirit, and adventurous soul. He was the proud owner of Sphynx Ink. He found his love for art at an early age and was drawing every chance he could. Jacob studied with some of Texas's finest tattoo artists, working busy walk-in shops, tattooing whatever and whoever walked through the door. This gave him a great appreciation for the customers themselves. He felt privileged to sit down and tattoo whatever the customer wanted and didn't want to restrict himself to learning only the type of tattooing he personally liked. Over the years he has been blessed to have met many fantastic people through tattooing, both customers and artists. Jacob felt so fortunate to be able to provide for his family by doing something he loves, constantly learning and developing his art skills, and making people happy along the way., Jacob opened Sphynx Ink - a true family ran business. Jacob wanted to provide a safe, clean and positive tattooing and piercing experience for clients.

Jacob was very passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others. A loyal servant of God, Jacob was dedicated to playing worship music, prison ministry, the Regeneration & ReEngage programs at Watermark Church, and building community wherever he went. Now that Jacob has passed into the arms of our Lord, his physical life on earth is over but it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for him.

Jacob had a strong passion for animals. He bred Sphynx cats and had a whole house full of animals. In addition to the countless Sphynx cats, Jacob was the father of BoBo the Great Dane, Ink the Golden Retriever, B.B. the French Bulldog, Bonnie the Pit bull, and his cat Harley (properly named after his passion for Harley Davidson).

Jacob’s caring spirit and generous heart could be felt by anyone he came in contact with. He had a special gift of not only seeing the good in people but bringing out the best in them as well. Jacob was an avid lover of the outdoors and spent much of his time out on his property in Greenville. His love for the outdoors brought out the happy free spirit that defined him.

He is survived by his wife, Sable P. Murry-Brown of Greenville, Texas; mother, Kimberly Winnubst of Trenton, Texas; sisters, Shelbi Winnubst of Anna, Texas, Morgan Whisenhunt and husband Sam of Anna, Texas, Rachel Winnubst of Austin, Texas, Katie Brown of Hewitt, Texas; brother, Ethan Brown of Waco, Texas; step-mother, Lauri Brown of Hewitt, Texas; mother-in- law, Scarlett Murry and husband James Booth of Dallas, Texas; and numerous other relatives and countless friends.
