Jackie Lewis Pullen, October 7, 1932 - April 3, 2020. Jackie was born in Farmersville, Texas to Robert Uriah and Lena Mae (Lewis) Pullen. He graduated from Farmersville High School in 1951. During that time he met and married the love of his life, Betty Lou Patterson on May 29, 1954. Jackie enlisted in the United States Navy on October 22, 1951 and served his country proudly until he was honorably discharged on October 19, 1956. He earned a bachelor’s degree from East Texas State University in 1960 while working full time at J.C. Penney, after only three years of study. He had a long and successful career with the Internal Revenue Service, which hired him on the spot upon his graduation. He was a loving brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a devoted husband and selfless caregiver to Betty and her mother Bessie. He was a man with a servant’s heart who cared for all others before himself.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty; sisters, Onita and Odessa and brother, Herschel.
He is survived by his two daughters, Debra Pullen Roth and her husband, Jim, and Tena Pullen Simone and her husband, Vincent. In addition, he is survived by his four grandchildren, James Roth and his wife, Amanda, Alyssa Roth Neal and her husband, Shane, Jacklyn Simone and Haley Simone. Lastly, he is survived by his great-grandchild, Julianne Roth. His dynamic, loving presence and joyful demeanor will be sorely missed by all.
