IN LOVING MEMORY

Jackie Rene Barnes

Apr 20 1966 - Aug 21 2026

Our beloved Jackie Rene Barnes passed away on August 21, 2026. She was born on April 20, 1966, in Stanton, California, to her parents, Jack and Jean Bryton.

Jackie devoted her life to Christ and to her family. To know Jackie, was to love Jackie. The Lord blessed her with the ability to light up every room she entered with her infectious smile. When most people think of Jackie, two words come to mind: joy and laughter. She was a loving wife to her husband, Jeff Barnes, for 41 years. Jackie’s four grandchildren meant everything to her- her most treasured title was being called "Gan Gan." Jackie's days were filled with frequent visits from her children and grandchildren. The back door was always open at Gan and Pops for whatever hugs, sweet treats, storytelling, or advice that was needed from Gan Gan. She treasured attending games and activities for her grandchildren, and was the best cheerleader and supporter. For over 30 years, Jackie worked alongside Jeff to run their cabinet business, JB Millwork, as the office manager. Jackie cherished every moment spent outside, tending to her flowers and plants or sitting poolside with family. She spent much of her time working tirelessly to make her house a home, paying close attention to every detail to make it a special place for her family. She was the most giving, thoughtful, and generous woman– a loyal friend, who loved making people laugh, and somehow always managed to brighten everyone's day. Jackie was an avid animal lover, and had many family animals (especially bulldogs) that were so deeply cherished by her over the years. Jackie fought many challenging health battles throughout her 60 years here, yet she always found a way to encourage those around her with the Gospel.

Jackie will forever be cherished and remembered by so many within our community as a pillar of joy, love, and sunshine. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Barnes; her children, Amber (Tyler) Bowman and Austen (Mallory) Barnes; her four precious grandchildren, Landry, Liberty, Lyla, and Baylor; and her brother, Tom (Lynn) Baker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jean Bryton; her sister, Katie Realey Wallis; and her oldest brother, Gaylenn Baker.

The family will greet guests at a visitation from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Trenton, 302 2nd St, Trenton, Texas 75490.

A Celebration of Life for Jackie will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Trenton.
